philippine small claims court?

I have a situation where a dog trainers negligence led to the death of my pure bred siberian husky. The dog costed 16,000 pesos and i have paid 7000 for the service of the trainer plus there are associated vet fees and other expenses directly resulting to the death of my dog. Not to mention the death of a very close family member. I have spoken to a couple of lawyers but their expenses are more than what i would be able to get by sueing. Is there any other course of action I can take? I am from the states and this situation would normally be held in a small claims court . Does a similar court exhist in the philippines? Any legal advise is greatly appreciated.

yeah, bumblebee, the barangay level first, they will try to make a settlement between you, and if they don’t want one, you get a certificate to file action in court which would takes years sometimes. Are you sure it’s their fault, not an accident, sickness, or there’s no waiver you signed in case foul incidents come up?
You can have the fiscal do the legal matter in court if you have legal grounds, no need for a lawyer. How about asking some assistance from an animal welfare shelter, here’s the number:4751688. this is in katipunan ave, quezon city
